Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance and expanding market presence within the assigned territory. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, appointing and managing distributors, strengthening retailer networks, and ensuring consistent business growth. The position requires strong leadership, extensive fieldwork, and excellent relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets within the assigned territory
- Identify, appoint, and develop new distributors and retailers
- Drive primary and secondary sales to ensure sustainable growth
- Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and ensure product availability
- Conduct regular market visits to engage with retailers and understand market dynamics
- Organize and lead retailer meetings to strengthen relationships
- Implement company schemes, promotions, and marketing activities effectively
- Gather market intelligence, including competitor activities and customer feedback
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain healthy credit control
- Prepare and maintain accurate sales reports with daily and weekly updates
- Lead, mentor, and guide Sales Officers/Sales Executives (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Graduate in any discipline
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG / retail / distribution
