Position Title: Jr. Technical Publications Associate - Aerospace

Job Summary
The Jr. Technical Publications Associate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems.
This role requires close collaboration with design, communication, avionics, flight testing, and quality teams to develop clear, accurate, and compliant technical manuals in accordance with Indian Ministry of Defence standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for UAV systems, including:
- Maintenance Manuals
- User Handbook
- Testing Equipment Manual
- Spare Parts Catalogs
- Troubleshooting Guides
- Author and structure technical content.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and source data to create accurate documentation.
- Work closely with design, systems, avionics, communication, and flight test engineers to gather technical inputs.
- Coordinate with the media team to generate photographic content and video assets for use in technical documentation, ensuring adherence to JSS standards.
- Ensure documentation complies with Indian Ministry of Defence standards (JSS
0251-01:2015).
- Should be able to create, update, and maintain Interactive Electronic Technical
Manuals (IETM) as per Indian Defense Standards (JSG 0852:2001) or European
Aviation standards (S1000D).
- Maintain version control, document revisions, and change tracking in line with
configuration management processes.
- Review, edit, and update documents based on engineering changes, feedback, and audits.
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy across all publications.
- Support internal and external audits by providing compliant documentation as and when required.
Educational Qualifications (Mandatory)
- B.E. in Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering, OR
- B.Sc. in Aircraft Maintenance
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical writing or technical authoring, preferably in the Aerospace domain.
- Prior experience documenting aircraft and/or UAVs, avionics, propulsion systems, or ground control systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in PTC Arbortext and/or Adobe FrameMaker (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of aerospace systems, maintenance practices, and technical terminology.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical
specifications.
- Familiarity with XML-based authoring and structured documentation is an advantage.
- Knowledge of aerospace documentation standards such as ATA, S1000D, or equivalent is desirable.
