Position: Instrumentation Engineer

Job Purpose
The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all plant instrumentation, process control systems, and automation equipment to achieve safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot all field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, pH, conductivity, and analytical instruments.
- Ensure proper functioning and calibration of transmitters, control valves, actuators, positioners, gauges, and switches.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, VFDs, and process control systems.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of boiler, utility, and process instrumentation.
- Carry out loop checking, calibration, and commissioning of new instruments.
- Maintain calibration records, preventive maintenance schedules, and instrument history cards.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams during shutdowns and plant modifications.
- Troubleshoot communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and HART.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and hazardous area requirements.
- Prepare spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares availability.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support automation improvement and energy optimization projects.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering
- B.E. Electronics & Instrumentation
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering (with relevant experience)
Experience
- 6–8 years in Chemical, Specialty Chemical, Petrochemical, API, Pharmaceutical, Fertilizer, or Process Industries.
