Job Summary
The Senior Purchase Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of commodities, packaging materials, consumables, and other operational requirements while ensuring cost-effective purchasing, timely availability of materials, and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure commodities, packaging materials, and indirect materials.
- Manage commodity procurement, including sourcing, supplier management, price negotiation, and timely procurement of paddy, rice, grains, and other raw materials.
- Source, evaluate, and develop suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, contracts, and delivery terms.
- Monitor commodity market trends and optimize procurement costs.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and quality teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Maintain purchase records and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Track inventory levels and initiate timely purchase orders.
- Prepare procurement reports and support cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in commodity procurement is mandatory.
