Role Overview
STMicroelectronics is seeking a highly organized and proactive Data Governance & Quality Lead to drive enterprise-wide data quality, governance, and process documentation initiatives across People Function.
This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, standardizing master and transactional data across regions and systems, defining data ownership and maintenance policies, and implementing robust data quality controls. In parallel, the role will ensure that global policies, procedures, and standard operating processes (SOPs) remain accurate, current, and aligned with evolving business requirements.
The successful candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with process excellence, stakeholder management, and data governance expertise to enable operational efficiency, compliance, and future-ready self-service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise-wide data governance standards and frameworks for People Function
- Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across teams.
- Drive harmonization and standardization of master and operational data across regions and systems.
- Process Documentation & Knowledge Governance
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business rules, and data standards.
- Define data creation, modification, approval, and maintenance processes.
- Implement data quality monitoring mechanisms, KPIs, dashboards, and periodic audits.
- Identify data quality gaps and lead remediation initiatives with business and Digital Transformation & IT stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of critical business data throughout its lifecycle.
- Partner with system owners and digital teams to embed governance controls into business applications and workflows.
- Own the governance framework for global policies, SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Ensure documentation remains current, accurate, compliant, and aligned with operational practices.
- Define review cycles, approval workflows, and document control standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of process documentation quality and usability.
- Establish standards for structured knowledge management and process repositories.
- Collaborate with process owners to simplify, standardize, and optimize documentation.
- Future-Ready Knowledge & Self-Service Enablement
- Develop frameworks that make policies and procedures easily searchable, consumable, and reusable.
- Ensure process documentation is structured to support digital self-service platforms, AI-enabled knowledge systems, and agent-assist capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and knowledge management technologies to improve user experience and operational effectiveness.
- Support the transformation toward self-service and intelligent support models.
- Project & Stakeholder Management
- Lead cross-functional governance and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop project plans, governance forums, milestones, and implementation roadmaps.
- Facilitate alignment among global stakeholders, regional teams, business owners, and IT organizations.
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes across multiple initiatives.
Provide regular reporting and executive-level updates on governance maturity, data quality, and documentation health.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in Data Governance, Business Process Management, Shared Services, Operations Excellence, or related areas.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects in global organizations.
- Strong understanding of data quality management, governance frameworks, and process standardization.
- Experience defining policies, controls, workflows, and governance models.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS) organizations.
- Knowledge of ERP and enterprise platforms such as SAP, ServiceNow, Oracle, People Soft, Workday, or similar systems.
- Experience with knowledge management platforms and self-service solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled knowledge management and digital transformation initiatives.
Certification in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Data Governance, or Process Excellence is a plus.
