We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Azure Platform Engineer to design, implement, automate, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure cloud services, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, CI/CD automation, cloud security, and platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Build, configure, and manage Azure infrastructure and cloud workloads.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, and CodeQL.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Monitor platform health, performance, and availability using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and New Relic.
- Ensure cloud environments comply with security best practices and organizational standards.
- Implement Azure security services including Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Security Center).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, security scans, and remediation activities.
- Promote and enforce secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Implement regulatory and compliance controls across Azure infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Optimize Azure resource utilization and support cloud cost management initiatives.
- Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions.
- Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on Azure and DevOps best practices.
- Support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives to improve system reliability and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and DevOps practices.
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools including Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, SonarQube, and CodeQL.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or New Relic.
- Good understanding of Azure security services including:
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Security Center)
- Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID)
- Azure Key Vault
- Experience performing vulnerability assessments, security remediation, and compliance implementation.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or JSON.
- Experience in automation and platform engineering.
- Good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
