Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Microbial Production Manager to manage the end-to-end production of microbial-based agricultural products such as biofertilizers, biostimulants and biopesticides. The candidate should have strong knowledge of microbial culture handling, fermentation, production planning, quality control and commercial-scale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day microbial production and ensure achievement of production targets.
- Supervise microbial culture maintenance, inoculum preparation and fermentation processes.
- Handle production of biofertilizers, biostimulants and other microbial agricultural inputs.
- Monitor fermentation parameters, batch processing, formulation, filling and packaging.
- Ensure proper handling and preservation of mother cultures and microbial strains.
- Plan production schedules, manpower, raw materials and equipment utilization.
- Monitor microbial count, contamination, pH, viability and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with FCO/BIS standards, SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality Control, R&D, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams.
- Maintain batch records, production reports, SOPs and other technical documentation.
- Identify production issues, conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Improve production efficiency, yield, product stability and cost effectiveness.
- Train and supervise production staff on microbial handling, hygiene and safety practices.
- Support new product development, process optimization and scale-up activities.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of microbial production and fermentation technology.
- Hands-on experience in microbial culture handling and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of biofertilizers, biopesticides, biostimulants or other agricultural biological products.
- Understanding of QC testing, contamination control and microbial enumeration.
- Strong production planning and team-management skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of production documentation and regulatory compliance.
Qualification & Experience
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology, Agricultural Microbiology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Life Sciences or related field.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in microbial production, biofertilizer, biopesticide or bio-input manufacturing.
- Candidates with experience in commercial-scale fermentation and microbial product manufacturing will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates currently working in biofertilizer, biopesticide, microbial, agri-input or biological product manufacturing companies with hands-on production and team-handling experience will be preferred.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
