Delhi Public School, Sector 67A, Gurugram is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Executive Chef to lead the operations of our in-house kitchen for the school's upcoming residential boarding programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for both day scholars and boarding students while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the school's in-house kitchen and catering operations.
- Plan and execute balanced, nutritious, and age-appropriate menus for students.
- Oversee the preparation and service of a whole-day meal plan for Day Scholars as well as Boarders.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Manage kitchen staff, duty rosters, training, and performance.
- Monitor inventory, procurement, storage, and cost control.
- Coordinate with school administration regarding dietary requirements, special meals, and event catering.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and service standards.
- Implement systems to minimize food wastage and optimize operational efficiency.
Eligibility & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in large-scale food production and kitchen management.
- Experience in residential schools, educational institutions, hospitals, hotels, or institutional catering will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, food safety, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate kitchen teams.
- Familiarity with FSSAI regulations and food hygiene standards.
