Designation: Head of Partnerships & Business Development
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Partnerships & Business Development to lead strategic alliance initiatives and drive business growth. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships with merchants, retailers, service providers, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners.
This role requires expertise in enterprise sales, partnership management, commercial negotiations, and business development. The selected candidate will work closely with the founders and leadership team to establish Mebanka as a leading fintech partnership platform.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnerships
- Identify and onboard strategic merchant partners across sectors including retail, fuel, telecom, healthcare, travel, education, utilities, and other industries.
- Build and maintain relationships with CXOs, business heads, and key decision-makers.
- Develop partnership proposals, commercial models, and business cases.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and commercial terms.
Business Development
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of partnership opportunities.
- Drive merchant onboarding, activation, and engagement.
- Develop market-entry strategies for new business verticals.
- Represent Mebanka at industry events, networking forums, and partner meetings.
Revenue & Growth
- Achieve partnership acquisition and revenue growth targets.
- Identify opportunities for merchant-funded rewards, cashback programs, loyalty initiatives, and customer acquisition partnerships.
- Develop scalable partnership frameworks to support business expansion.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with product, operations, compliance, legal, and banking teams.
- Coordinate with external partners during onboarding and implementation phases.
Process Development
- Develop partnership acquisition playbooks and best practices.
- Establish CRM and pipeline management processes.
- Create reporting mechanisms and performance dashboards.
- Support the recruitment and development of the partnerships team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
- 8–15 years of experience in Enterprise Sales, Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Banking Partnerships, Fintech Partnerships, Retail Alliances, or related domains.
- Proven track record of successfully closing large partnership deals.
- Experience engaging with CXO-level stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
Preferred Industry Experience
Fintech, Banking, Payments, Loyalty Programs, Retail Partnerships, Consumer Commerce Platforms, Enterprise SaaS, or Financial Services.
