Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety
B. Tech or BE degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field
Technical Competencies
Comprehensive knowledge of current fire suppression and firefighting techniques
Understanding of principles and practices in emergency medical services
Knowledge of ISO audits and BSC (Balanced Scorecard) audits and related processes
Work Schedule
Working Hours: Standard shift (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
Working Days: 6 days per week
Position Overview
As Fire & Safety Manager, you will oversee and ensure comprehensive fire safety operations at your assigned site. You will manage fire suppression apparatus, coordinate emergency response activities, and ensure compliance with all fire and life safety protocols through effective command structure implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response & Operations
Perform equipment setup and deployment upon arrival at fire scenes
Dispatch and accompany the Emergency Response Team (ERT) during incidents
Execute rescue, firefighting, and salvage operations at emergency sites
Determine if individuals are trapped within burning facilities using established procedures and coordinate rescue operations
Secure affected structures to prevent rekindling
Safety Planning & Training
Develop and execute fire and life safety evacuation drills for team members and building occupants
Conduct fire safety related training programs
Perform periodic lift evacuation and rescue drills
Attend pre-fire planning studies and maintain updated knowledge of pre-fire plans
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain inventory of all equipment post-suppression, recording equipment left at incident sites
Prepare comprehensive incident reports
Liaise with government authorities for periodic renewal of NOCs (No Objection Certificates)
Maintain updated records of all site incidents
Keep current all checklists and records related to fire equipment maintenance and training
System Management
Ensure all fire and life safety systems operate effectively and efficiently
Establish criteria for determining the number and type of fire equipment needed in designated areas
Key Attributes
Analytical and meticulous approach to safety management
Strong attention to detail in equipment management and documentation
Ability to make quick decisions under pressure during emergency situations
