The Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the automotive body shop, ensuring high-quality collision repairs, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability. This role involves managing technicians, coordinating repair workflows, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring timely vehicle delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the body shop.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor repair work to ensure timely completion.
- Supervise body technicians, painters, estimators, and support staff.
- Review repair estimates and ensure accuracy of labor, parts, and material costs.
- Monitor repair quality and ensure compliance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, surveyors, and customers regarding repair approvals and progress.
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and profitability through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage inventory of parts, paint, and consumables to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate body shop employees.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper utilization of shop resources.
- Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in automotive body shop or collision repair operations, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of collision repair processes, painting, welding, and vehicle structural repairs.
- Experience with insurance claim procedures and repair estimation systems.
- Proficiency in workshop management software and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license (preferred).
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
