Hiring: Special Educator cum Student Counsellor

Job Summary
The SOBHA Academy is seeking a qualified and compassionate Special Educator cum Student Counsellor to support students who require additional academic assistance, learning interventions, and emotional guidance. The ideal candidate will identify students with learning difficulties, developmental challenges, or special educational needs and provide appropriate support to help them succeed in a regular school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify students who may require additional educational support through observation, assessment, and teacher referrals
- Conduct screening and assessments to identify learning difficulties and special educational needs
- Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and remedial learning strategies
- Provide one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions for students requiring additional support
- Support students with academic, behavioural, and social-emotional challenges
- Work closely with teachers to implement inclusive classroom practices and learning accommodations
- Provide counselling and guidance support to students as required
- Collaborate with parents regarding student progress and intervention plans
- Maintain student records, assessments, progress reports, and related documentation
- Conduct awareness programmes and workshops for teachers and parents on inclusive education and child development
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and recommend appropriate support measures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Special Education (RCI-recognised qualification preferred)
- Relevant experience as a Special Educator in a school setting
- Experience in student counselling or child guidance preferred
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, developmental disorders, and inclusive education practices
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and school management

- Experience in conducting educational assessments and remedial interventions
- Strong counselling and mentoring skills
- Patience, empathy, and a student-centred approach
- Good report-writing and record-maintenance abilities
- Ability to develop effective support strategies for diverse learners
Salary & Benefits
Salary will be as per school norms and based on qualification and experience.
