HR Lead
Location: Mangalore
Function: Human Resources
Reporting To: VP – Business Development & Operations
Industry Preference: Travel / Hospitality / Service Industry preferred
Role Objective
We are looking for a hands-on and proactive HR professional who can take complete ownership of the HR function and work closely with management and department heads.
The role requires someone who can go beyond routine HR administration and actively strengthen people practices, improve processes, maintain strong compliance and documentation controls, support business requirements, and contribute towards creating a positive and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Business Partnering
- Take end-to-end ownership of the HR function and act as the primary HR partner to management and department heads.
- Regularly engage with business heads to understand manpower, performance, productivity and people-related requirements.
- Identify HR gaps proactively and recommend practical solutions without waiting for management intervention.
- Simplify HR processes and continuously improve efficiency and employee experience.
Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment across departments and locations.
- Understand the actual business requirement before sourcing and ensure quality shortlisting.
- Develop multiple sourcing channels including portals, consultants, referrals, campus hiring and direct sourcing.
- Maintain manpower plans, recruitment dashboards and closure timelines.
- Improve quality of hiring while reducing unnecessary dependency on recruitment agencies.
HR Operations & Documentation
- Maintain complete control and visibility over employee records and HR documentation.
- Ensure employee files, contracts, NDAs, confirmations and other mandatory documents are complete and audit ready.
- Manage attendance, leave, confirmations, transfers, exits, Full & Final settlements and other employee lifecycle processes.
- Maintain accurate HR dashboards, trackers and management reports.
- Ensure junior HR resources are effectively supervised without creating dependency on them for critical HR information.
Performance Management & Development
- Drive a simple, structured and effective Performance Management System.
- Ensure KRAs and performance expectations are clearly defined.
- Track probation, confirmation, appraisal and development plans.
- Work with department heads to identify skill gaps and employee development requirements.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Build a positive, professional and performance-oriented workplace.
- Regularly connect with employees and managers to understand concerns and improvement opportunities.
- Develop practical employee engagement, recognition and retention initiatives.
- Support management in improving employee communication and workplace experience.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure HR policies, SOPs and processes remain updated and practically implemented.
- Maintain complete compliance documentation and ensure HR is audit-ready.
- Proactively identify HR risks and escalate them to management with recommended corrective actions.

Preferred Profile
- Experience: Approximately 7+years in HR, with at least 2 years handling an HR managerial role.
- Experience independently managing a broad HR function is strongly preferred.
- Experience in travel, hospitality, tourism, service, or other people-intensive industries would be an advantage.
- Strong exposure to recruitment, HR operations, PMS, employee engagement and compliance.
- Should have experience working directly with senior management/business heads.
- Candidates who have demonstrated measurable HR process improvements in previous organisations will be preferred.
Pay: ₹472,114.73 - ₹700,000.00 per year
