Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts and current inventory levels.
- Monitor production progress against the master schedule and adjust plans to accommodate unexpected delays, machine breakdowns, or urgent orders.
- Maximize plant capacity utilization while minimizing changeover times and production bottlenecks.
2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Calculate exact requirements for Raw Materials (RM) and Packing Materials (PM) based on the production plan and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate proactively with the Procurement/Purchasing team to ensure the timely arrival of materials to avoid stock-outs and production halts.
- Track the delivery status of pending orders and expedite deliveries when necessary.
3. Inventory Control & Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for RM, PM, and Finished Goods (FG) to prevent overstocking and minimize capital lock-up.
- Regularly monitor the shelf-life and expiry dates of sensitive nutraceutical ingredients (e.g., vitamins, probiotics, active herbal extracts) to prevent material wastage.
- Identify and report non-moving, slow-moving, or obsolete inventory and suggest liquidation strategies.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) department for the prompt sampling and release of RM/PM for production.
- Work closely with the Production team to ensure they have the necessary materials and instructions to execute the batch manufacturing records (BMR).
- Liaise with the Warehouse and Dispatch teams to ensure finished nutraceutical products are shipped according to the delivery schedule.
5. Documentation & ERP Management
- Create and release process orders, batch numbers, and job work orders in the ERP/SAP system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily, weekly, and monthly MIS (Management Information System) reports regarding production output, yield, and inventory status.
- Ensure all planning and inventory documentation strictly adheres to industry Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Science (B.Sc)
- Experience: [2 to 5] years of proven experience in PPIC, Supply Chain, or Production Planning, specifically within the Nutraceutical and Pharmaceutical only
- Technical Skills: * Hands-on experience with Marg software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis).
