Core Responsibilities
1. Alignment with Nursing Protocols
- Adhere to KSC nursing care standards, clinical protocols, SOPs, and organisational policies in all nursing activities.
2. Orientation and Floor Operations
- Familiarise with unit routines, patient census, risk categorisation, and core nursing procedures.
- Maintain equipment checklists and manage nursing inventory through the HMS.
3. Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with senior nursing staff on admissions, discharges, transfers, referrals, and diagnostic services.
- Escalate and communicate significant changes in patient condition to the relevant healthcare team without delay.
4. Comprehensive Nursing Assessment
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within defined turnaround times (TAT).
- Accurately document assessments and care plans in patient records.
5. Medical Records and Documentation
- Maintain and manage Medical Records Department (MRD) files for both active and discharged patients.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
- Record and authenticate verbal medical orders issued during emergencies in line with policy.
6. Direct Patient Care
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care, including:
- Medication reconciliation and administration
- Wound care and chronic disease management
- Palliative and end-of-life care following best practices
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
7. Medication Administration and Monitoring
- Administer medications accurately as prescribed, following the “rights” of medication administration.
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers prior to medication administration.
- Administer high-alert medications only after verification by a senior nurse.
- Report medication errors or near misses immediately to the Nurse Manager and CMO.
8. Ward Rounds and Clinical Assistance
- Accompany the CMO during ward rounds, prepare relevant documentation, and assist with clinical procedures as required.
- Ensure investigations are completed as advised and reports are made available promptly.
9. Inventory and Supplies Management
- Raise timely indents to maintain adequate stock of medicines and consumables.
- Escalate shortages immediately to the Nurse Manager for resolution.
10. Patient-Centred Care
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and sensitivity while caring for geriatric patients.
- Ensure care delivery upholds patient dignity, autonomy, comfort, and quality of life.
11. Safety and Infection Control
- Comply with all patient and staff safety protocols.
- Implement fall prevention measures at all times.
- Follow infection control practices, including correct segregation and disposal of biomedical waste.
12. Team Collaboration and Handover
- Work collaboratively with doctors, therapists, caregivers, and families to ensure coordinated care.
- Ensure accurate and structured handover and takeover during shift transitions.
13. Professional Conduct and Training
- Maintain professional discipline, ethical conduct, and workplace decorum.
- Participate in in-service training and skill-building programs as scheduled.
14. Incident Reporting
- Report incidents promptly using the approved incident reporting format, including RCA and CAPA, and submit to the Nurse Manager.
15. Quality Improvement and Patient Rights
- Update quality improvement (QI) data within defined timelines.
- Uphold patient rights and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
16. Transfer Formalities
- Complete all patient transfer processes and documentation in accordance with the approved transfer policy.
Knowledge and Experience
- Education: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Registration: Valid State Nursing Council registration

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
