Job Overview
Tropic Knits is looking for an Environmental Sustainability Executive / Assistant Manager to support and drive sustainability, environmental compliance, and certification activities across our manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sustainability programs, audits, and environmental management within the textile or garment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance activities.
- Handle SAC/Higg modules (FEM, FDM, MSI, etc.) and coordinate self and third-party verifications.
- Coordinate statutory certifications and approvals from authorities such as TNPCB, Fire, Sanitary, Health & Safety, and Factory Inspectorate.
- Conduct internal sustainability audits for factory and subcontractor facilities.
- Support programs related to GHG, CDP, ZDHC Gateway, InCheck, MSDS, CIL, OEKO-TEX, and chemical management.
- Prepare sustainability reports, KPI dashboards, and management presentations.
- Conduct employee awareness and training programs on sustainability practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree or relevant specialization in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or Compliance.
- Experience in the garment, textile, or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Good knowledge of Higg Index, sustainability audits, and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication skills in English and Tamil.
- Good analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
