Job Summary
The CNC Setter (Turning) is responsible for setting up CNC Turning (Lathe) machines, selecting tools and fixtures, conducting first-piece inspection, and ensuring smooth production with minimum downtime while meeting quality and production targets. The role requires knowledge of engineering drawings, CNC machine setup, and precision measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC Turning (Lathe) machines as per production requirements.
- Install and align cutting tools, fixtures, chucks, and workpieces.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Set tool offsets, work coordinates, and machine parameters.
- Perform first-off inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and maintain product quality as per customer specifications.
- Monitor tool wear, replace inserts, and optimize tool life.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process-related issues to reduce downtime.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets.
- Follow 5S, TPM, and safety standards while maintaining production records.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a CNC Turning Setter in an automotive or precision machining industry.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in machining automotive components.
- Knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and meet production targets.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
