About the Role
FABMAX is seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to manage welding procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record), overseeing welding inspections, and ensuring quality across multiple welding processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain WPS & PQR documentation.
- Conduct and supervise welding inspections for FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW processes.
- Ensure compliance with fabrication standards and client specifications.
- Verify raw materials, welding consumables (rods, wires, flux), and ensure traceability.
- Provide technical support to shop floor welders and supervisors.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and audit readiness.
- Maintain records for welding procedures, qualifications, and consumables.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or Welding Technology.
- 3–7 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in fabrication industry.
- Strong knowledge of stainless steel, carbon steel, and welding consumables.
- Hands‑on experience with FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW processes.
- Familiarity with international welding standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).
- Ability to face client/TPI inspections and audits confidently.
