Our proprietary Phase Change Material (PCM) technology powers sustainable cooling across cold chains, industrial heat sinks, and HVAC systems , cutting emissions while unlocking efficiency. As we scale our Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) network across India and global markets, we are seeking a Finance Controller who can bring clarity, discipline, and financial intelligence to a fast-moving climate-tech enterprise.
This is not a desk-bound accounting role. It’s a mission-critical leadership position for someone who can navigate between boardrooms and shop floors, fundraising meetings and factory audits , all while keeping the financial pulse of a growing manufacturing company steady and strong.
The Finance Controller will be the custodian of Tan90’s financial health , ensuring precision, compliance, and strategic foresight. You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team, translating operational data into actionable insights and ensuring every rupee works as hard as our technology does.
Establish robust internal control systems across manufacturing, CaaS operations, and project divisions. Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, GST, TDS, and all statutory mandates. Design audit-ready systems that stand up to investor and regulatory scrutiny.
KPIs: Zero non-compliance incidents across statutory filings and audits; monthly and quarterly closings completed within defined timelines; audit completion within 60 days of financial year-end.
Develop detailed budgets for each business vertical , manufacturing, service, and exports. Generate rolling forecasts to guide leadership on cash flow, capital expenditure, and profitability. Build dashboards and MIS systems that track unit economics, product-level margins, and operational efficiencies.
KPIs: Monthly variance between actuals and forecasts within acceptable range; on-time delivery of MIS reports and actionable insights; departmental budget adherence above 95%.
Introduce product-level and process-level cost accounting across PCM panels, sachets, and CaaS assets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through yield improvement, sourcing optimization, and process efficiency.
KPIs: Quarterly cost reduction of 2–3% in direct manufacturing expenses; margins mapped and tracked at SKU/vertical level; COGS visibility down to material, labor, and logistics components.
Maintain liquidity without compromising growth. Supervise payables, receivables, inventory, and credit cycles. Manage banking relationships, term loans, and working-capital facilities.
KPIs: Robust cash-flow forecasting; continuous reduction in receivable days quarter over quarter; maintenance of sufficient cash buffer to support operations and expansion.
Collaborate with external auditors, investors, and internal teams to produce timely, transparent reports. Support the CEO and CFO in due diligence, valuations, and board presentations during Series B and beyond.
KPIs: On-time delivery of investor decks, financial models, and due diligence data; clear financial narratives aligned with business milestones.
Hire and mentor a capable finance team, standardize processes, and oversee ERP implementation for integrated financial operations. Promote a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making.
KPIs: ERP-driven reporting with minimal manual intervention; regular team training and skill enhancement programs.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 5–10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllership roles, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or process industries.
- Exposure to startup scaling, investor relations, or cost-based service models is a plus.
- Strong command over financial modelling, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
- Analytical rigour balanced with business intuition.
