SHAM INSTITUTE is looking for a dedicated and student-focused Counsellor to support prospective and existing students in selecting suitable courses, understanding admission procedures, and planning their academic and career paths. The role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to guide students effectively.
Job Summary
The Counsellor will be responsible for assisting students and parents in understanding academic programs and guiding them through the admission process. The role involves managing enquiries, supporting conversions, and ensuring smooth student onboarding while maintaining a professional and supportive approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to prospective students and parents from provided leads.
- Counsel students and parents regarding available courses, admissions process, and career opportunities.
- Provide detailed information about program structure, eligibility criteria, and future career scope.
- Handle enquiries received through calls, walk-ins, emails, and digital platforms.
- Support and guide students during campus visits and admission procedures.
- Maintain and update records of enquiries, follow-ups, and admission status.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
- Address student queries and concerns and escalate when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream
- Prior experience in counselling, academic advising, or telecalling is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong convincing and presentation abilities.
- Ability to understand student needs and provide appropriate guidance.
- Well-organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple leads efficiently.
