Job Summary
The MEP/Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating,
and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works, with a primary
focus on electrical systems, across the company's real estate projects. The role
ensures that all MEP installations are executed in accordance with approved
drawings, statutory regulations, quality standards, project timelines, and budget
requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Plan, supervise, and monitor all MEP and electrical works at project sites.
Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical
documents.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants,
contractors, and site engineers.
Ensure execution of works in accordance with approved drawings and
applicable codes.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of MEP activities.
Electrical Engineering
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of:
o HT & LT Electrical Systems
o Transformers and RMUs
o DG Sets
o Electrical Panels
o Cable Laying and Terminations
o Earthing Systems
o Lightning Protection Systems
o Internal & External Electrification
o Street Lighting
o Fire Alarm Systems
o CCTV Systems
o Access Control Systems
o UPS & Backup Power Systems
Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and statutory
requirements.
Coordinate with the Electrical Inspectorate and utility authorities for
inspections and approvals.
Mechanical & Plumbing Coordination
Supervise HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage
treatment plant (STP), rainwater harvesting, and pump room installations.
Coordinate installation of lifts, ventilation systems, and building services.
Ensure proper integration of all MEP services with civil and architectural
works.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
Verify materials before installation.
Ensure compliance with approved material specifications.
Monitor testing and commissioning activities.
Prepare snag lists and ensure timely rectification before project handover.
Cost Control & Billing
Verify contractor measurements and bills.
Review BOQs and quantity variations.
Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for MEP works.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site safety
procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections related to MEP works.
Ensure statutory approvals and certifications are obtained before
commissioning.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Review shop drawings and as-built drawings.
Maintain inspection records, testing reports, and commissioning documents.
Prepare project updates for management.
Coordination
Coordinate with:
o Consultants
o Architects
o Contractors
o Government Authorities
o Utility Service Providers
o Internal Project Teams
o Procurement Department
Resolve technical issues during execution.
Attend project review meetings and site coordination meetings.
Handover & Maintenance
Participate in project testing and commissioning.
Ensure all MEP systems are operational before handover.
Prepare snag-free handover documentation.
Coordinate with Facility Management during project handover.
Assist during the Defect Liability Period (DLP) whenever required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Additional certification in MEP Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
5–10 years of experience in MEP/Electrical engineering.
Minimum 3 years of experience in residential or commercial real estate
projects.
Experience in high-rise residential projects will be preferred.
Technical Skills
Thorough knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting,
HVAC, and ELV systems.
Knowledge of National Building Code (NBC), IS Standards, and Electrical
Safety Regulations.
Familiarity with Kerala State Electrical Inspectorate procedures and utility
approvals is preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with project management software is an advantage.

Site-based role with frequent site inspections.
Willingness to travel between project locations as required.
Availability to attend urgent site issues beyond normal working hours, if
necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: 35,000 – 40,000 per month (CTC), based on qualifications,
experience, and interview performance.
Performance-Based Increment: Eligible for periodic salary increments
based on individual performance, achievement of business objectives, and
the Company's performance, as per Company policy.
Benefits: Statutory benefits and other allowances as per Company policy.
Working Conditions
Full-time managerial position based at the Corporate Office and Project Sites.
Travel for client meetings, project launches, exhibitions, and business events
as required.
