Job Summary:-
The Straightening Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring straightening machines used in the Bright Bar Department. The role ensures that bright bars are straightened according to quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements while minimizing material wastage.
Key Responsibilities:-
Operate straightening machines for bright bars as per production requirements.
Check raw material dimensions and specifications before processing.
Ensure finished bars meet straightness and quality standards.
Perform machine setup and adjustments according to material size and grade.
Conduct visual inspections and basic measurements using gauges and measuring instruments.
Identify and segregate defective or non-conforming material.
Maintain production records and daily output reports.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
Ensure proper housekeeping in the work area following 5S practices.
Report machine breakdowns, quality issues, and safety concerns to the supervisor.
Assist maintenance personnel during machine servicing when required.
Follow all company safety policies and use PPE at all times.
Required Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of bright bar manufacturing processes.
Ability to operate straightening machines efficiently.
Understanding of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers and straightness gauges.
Basic troubleshooting skills for machine operations.
Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
Ability to work in shifts and under production targets.
Qualification:-
ITI / Diploma / 10th or 12th Pass (Preferred).
Technical training in machine operation will be an added advantage.
Experience:-
1–3 years of experience in a Bright Bar, Steel Rolling, or Engineering Industry.
Experience operating straightening machines preferred.
