Job Overview:
The Workday focused People Systems Analyst is a midlevel HR technology professional responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and ongoing optimization of Workday. This role applies deep functional knowledge and hands on system expertise to support business processes, deliver enhancements, guide design discussions, and ensure high quality system performance.
The Analyst partners with People Team SMEs, IT, and cross functional stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, drive process design improvements, and support organizational change management. This role requires strong analytical skills, project management capability, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities:
People Systems Management & Support
Troubleshoot issues across multiple functional areas within Workday.
Evaluate downstream impacts of changes and ensure consistent configuration standards.
Support cross functional partners by translating user requirements into system specifications.
Monitor Workday roadmap developments and advise stakeholders on upcoming feature releases.
Workday Configuration & Administration
Configure core Workday components including business processes, tenant setup, condition rules, validations, notifications, and alerts.
Manage domain and business process level security and perform security assessments.
Build advanced reports and develop basic calculated fields to support business needs.
Use vendor documentation and internal standards to guide configuration updates and documentation.
Project Management & Cross Functional Leadership
Lead moderately complex cross functional projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and resource needs.
Apply strong change management practices to ensure adoption and value realization.
Support requirement gathering sessions and help design complete solutions—including configuration, reporting, and notifications.
Testing, Controls, & Documentation
Conduct structured testing, validation, and documentation of changes prior to deployment.
Perform actions in alignment with required controls and maintain proper documentation.
Data, Reporting & Analytics
Build custom workforce reports and use data pulls across sources to answer business questions.
Ensure reports are accurate, appropriately scoped, and suitable for the intended audience.
Agile & Process Innovation
Manage backlog items, run prioritization sessions, and lead demo sessions as part of Agile routines.
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend innovative solutions.

Requirements:
3–5 years of Workday experience across multiple functional areas.
Demonstrated ability to configure Workday and execute release testing cycles.
Configuration experience in Workday's Talent suite (Recruiting, Performance, Talent Management)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Experience leading cross functional projects.
Familiarity with HR policies, processes, and operating environments.
