Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, maintaining pharmacy inventory, ensuring proper storage of medicines, and supporting safe and effective medication management.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medicines accurately as per doctors' prescriptions.
- Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and potential medication-related issues.
- Provide appropriate information to patients regarding dosage, administration, and storage of medications.
- Maintain proper records of medicines dispensed and pharmacy transactions.
- Monitor medicine stock, expiry dates, and inventory levels.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medications, including temperature-sensitive drugs.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication requirements.
- Maintain controlled drug and narcotic records as per applicable regulations and hospital policies.
- Handle medication returns, damaged stock, and expired medicines according to established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy standards, and patient safety requirements.
- Participate in stock audits and inventory management activities.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the pharmacy.
- Support quality improvement and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid Pharmacy Council registration is mandatory.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital pharmacy.
- Good knowledge of medicines, dosage, drug storage, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy procedures and patient safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in shifts and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
