Summary:
The primary purpose of the Senior Storage & Virtualization Systems Engineer is to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced storage and virtualization solutions that underpin the company's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the highest levels of performance, scalability, and reliability of storage systems and virtual environments. It involves strategic collaboration with cross
functional teams to align storage and virtualization strategies with overarching business objectives. The engineer is responsible for resolving complex technical issues, minimizing downtime, and enhancing system efficiency. Additionally, the position drives continuous improvement by evaluating and integrating cutting-edge technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Operates in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote work with on-site presence to oversee
critical infrastructure projects.
Engages in strategic planning sessions and technical workshops to drive innovation and system
enhancements.
Collaborates extensively with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business units,
to ensure alignment of storage and virtualization strategies with business goals.
Tasks
Lead the design and implementation of scalable storage and virtualization solutions, ensuring
alignment with business objectives and future growth.
Optimize existing systems for enhanced performance and reliability, utilizing advanced
troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Drive the integration of new technologies and methodologies to improve IT service delivery and
infrastructure efficiency.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Storage
Strong knowledge in storage products from Netapp (FAS, AFF and StorageGRID)
Strong knowledge in Pure products (X- and C-Series, Flashblade)
High experience in Troubleshooting these products
Good knowledge in Brocade SAN products and Zoning
Virtualization
Strong knowledge in common VMware products (e.g. ESXi, Aria Operations)
Strong knowledge in Software Defined Network technologies, especially NSX-T
High experience in Troubleshooting these products
Advanced skills in the VMware VCF stack
Backup
Strong knowledge in Commvault Backup solutions
Good knowledge in usual backup procedures like snapshotting and streaming
High experience in Troubleshooting and maintaining complex Commvault environments
Good knowledge in Disaster Recovery and Cyber Resiliency
Cloud
Good knowledge in common hyperscalers, especially AWS
Good knowledge cloud tools, e.g CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Github
Misc
Good knowledge in network protocols and features (e.g. GENEVE, TCP/IP, Routing)
Good knowledge in Javascript, Python and Powershell
Good knowledge in Monitoring and Performance analysis tools and procedures
Good understanding of IT processes and measures, e.g. Change- and Incident Management,

Additional Information:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a
preference for advanced certifications in storage and virtualization technologies.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in designing and managing complex storage and virtualization
environments, with a proven track record of successful project leadership.
Strong expertise in industry-leading storage and virtualization platforms, with the ability to
influence and implement strategic IT initiatives.
