Role Overview
As a Business Development Associate at Diwaan, your primary responsibility will be to identify furniture businesses that could benefit from our platform, build trust with business owners, and help onboard them onto Diwaan.
This is not a typical “cold calling only” sales role. Many furniture business owners operate traditionally, so relationship-building, communication, patience, and trust are extremely important.
The role may involve both virtual and physical meetings depending on the business owner's preference.
Responsibilities
- Identify furniture stores, manufacturers, and related businesses that may benefit from Diwaan
- Reach out to business owners through calls, visits, referrals, or networking
- Build long-term trust and relationships with prospects
- Explain Diwaan’s platform and schedule demos
- Assist businesses during onboarding and setup
- Coordinate with the internal team during outreach and onboarding
- Maintain records of leads, conversations, and follow-ups
- Understand customer concerns and provide practical solutions
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident speaking with business owners and decision-makers
- Comfortable with field visits and in-person meetings if required
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Basic understanding of sales, outreach, or customer handling
- Ability to work in a small, fast-moving startup environment
- Fluency in Hindi and/or local language is a plus
- Prior sales experience is helpful
