About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in managing the overall finance and accounting functions of the organization, ensuring strong financial governance and operational efficiency. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls while supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making.
As a Finance Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements such as GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, and ESI. You will work closely with internal teams including HR, procurement, and operations to streamline financial processes and strengthen cost control measures.
In addition, you will coordinate with auditors and external consultants for statutory audits, internal audits, and financial reviews. You will be expected to prepare financial statements, MIS reports, cash flow statements, and management presentations, providing meaningful insights into the company’s financial performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, compliance, and budgeting. CA Intermediate qualification will be preferred. You must possess strong analytical skills, leadership ability, attention to detail, and the capability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
· Maintain the general ledger system, recording all financial transactions accurately and reconciling accounts on a regular basis.
· Ensuring that all the defined processes are being followed and adhered to without any deviation.
· Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing, to ensure timely and accurate payments and collections.
· Coordination with the cross-functional teams within the organization, and the individual must work closely with them to ensure that the tasks are completed within the defined timelines.
· The physical inventory check needs to be conducted regularly, and the re order point management must be handled efficiently.
· The defined best-in-class inventory practices must be followed, and any changes or deviations must be brought to the notice of the concerned personnel.
· Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.—
· Assist in tax planning and compliance, preparing tax returns and supporting documentation for various tax filings.
· Stay up-to-date with any relevant changes in finance matters and ensure that the knowledge is applied in the day-to-day operations of the role.
Candidate requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CA or CMA certification preferred. CA articleship is an added advantage.
· Proven experience of min 5yrs in finance and accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial & accounting principles and practices.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Self-starter who can work with little supervision
· Goal-oriented with the ability to track and achieve KPIs
