Role Summary:
Operate and/or program Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings, maintaining quality, safety, and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation
Set up and operate VMC machines for production jobs
Load raw materials and ensure proper fixturing and alignment
Change tools and offsets as per job requirements
Monitor machining process and make adjustments when needed
2. Programming (if applicable)
Prepare and edit CNC programs (G-code / CAM software)
Optimize tool paths for efficiency and accuracy
Debug and modify programs for improvements
3. Quality Control
Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Use measuring instruments like vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.
Ensure components meet tolerance and quality standards
Perform in-process and final inspection
4. Maintenance & Safety
Perform basic machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, checks)
Report machine faults or breakdowns
Follow safety guidelines and 5S practices in the shop floor
5. Production Support
Meet daily/weekly production targets
Reduce rejection and improve cycle time
Coordinate with supervisors, QC, and production team
Skills Required:
Knowledge of CNC/VMC operations (Fanuc / Siemens / Haas controls preferred)
Ability to read technical drawings
Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters
Basic programming knowledge (for programmer role)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Education & Experience:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred
1–5 years experience in VMC operations
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
