Job Title: Purchase Executive Trainee - Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Job Summary:
The Purchase Executive in Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for managing
the procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing
process. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining
inventory levels and optimizing costs while adhering to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Management:
i. Source and procure raw materials, components, and services from local and international suppliers.
ii. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
iii. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
2. Inventory Control:
i. Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules.
ii. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
iii. Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to manage inventory effectively.
3. Supplier Management:
i. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
ii. Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
iii. Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to supplier deliveries and quality.
4. Cost Optimization:
i. Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
ii. Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising on quality.
iii. Prepare and present cost analysis reports to management.
5. Order Management:
i. Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
ii. Track and expedite orders as necessary to meet production timelines.
iii. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
i. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
ii. Maintain thorough documentation of all procurement transactions and supplier agreements.
iii. Prepare reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance.
7. Collaboration:
i. Work closely with the production, quality assurance, and finance teams to align procurement with overall business goals.
ii. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
2. Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. If fresher, willingness to learn is appreciated.
3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
4. Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Other software trainings will be provided in training.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Skills:
1. Strong computation skills and proficiency in MS Excel and other worksheets.
2. Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
3. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
4. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Work Environment:
1. Primarily office-based with occasional visits to suppliers and manufacturing sites.
2. May require occasional travel for supplier audits and negotiations.
