EY-ServiceNow – Technical Architect (ITAM / SAM)
As part of our EY GDS-ServiceNow team, you will work to solve client problems using the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM). You will get an opportunity to work with a high-quality team and architect innovative solutions that drive cost optimization, compliance, and governance across enterprise environments.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a highly experienced Technical Architect with strong expertise in ServiceNow ITAM and Software Asset Management (SAM) to join the EY GDS ServiceNow team. Your key responsibilities
Define overall architecture, design, and implementation strategy for ServiceNow ITAM and SAM solutions
Lead end-to-end SAM Pro implementations, including software normalization, reconciliation, and compliance frameworks
Architect enterprise-scale asset management solutions covering software lifecycle, entitlements, contracts, and license optimization
Design and enforce CMDB and asset data models, ensuring alignment with CSDM and governance standards
Define and implement software license management strategies (subscription, SaaS, perpetual, cloud-based licensing)
Lead integration of ServiceNow with discovery tools, procurement systems, ERP platforms, cloud providers, and software vendors
Architect automation frameworks for license compliance, reclamation, optimization, and audit readiness
Provide technical leadership and governance across ITAM/SAM programs, ensuring adherence to best practices
Conduct architecture reviews, solution validation, and code governance
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable architectural solutions
Drive SAM maturity assessments and roadmap development
Skills and attributes for success
Deep expertise in ServiceNow ITAM and SAM Pro modules
Strong understanding of software asset lifecycle, license compliance, and optimization strategies
Experience with software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, SaaS platforms, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of CMDB, CSDM framework, and data governance
Proficiency in ServiceNow platform architecture, scripting (JavaScript, Glide API)
Experience with integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server)
Familiarity with discovery and inventory data sources for license reconciliation
Knowledge of cloud/SaaS asset management and FinOps principles
Strong understanding of ITIL processes and IT asset lifecycle management
Experience in enterprise-scale transformations and architecture governance
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
Approximately 12–16 years of IT experience, with significant expertise in ServiceNow ITAM/SAM
Proven experience as a Technical Architect in ITAM/SAM implementations
ServiceNow CSA certification (mandatory)
ServiceNow CIS – Software Asset Management (mandatory/preferred)
ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience with SAM Pro advanced capabilities (Content Library, normalization engine, reconciliation engine)
Exposure to HAM Pro and full ITAM suite implementations
Experience supporting software vendor audits (Microsoft, Oracle, etc.)
Knowledge of cloud license management, SaaS governance, and FinOps practices
Experience in Performance Analytics and ITAM dashboards/reporting
