The WTP Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of Water Treatment Plants. The role includes ensuring uninterrupted plant operations, maintaining water quality standards, coordinating maintenance activities, and complying with statutory and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and supervise Water Treatment Plant (WTP) operations.
- Monitor raw water and treated water quality parameters.
- Ensure optimum performance of RO systems, pressure sand filters (PSF), activated carbon filters (ACF), softeners, and dosing systems.
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of WTP equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
- Maintain daily operation logs, maintenance records, and water quality reports.
- Monitor chemical consumption and maintain inventory levels.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and maintenance teams for smooth plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company SOPs.
- Train plant operators and ensure proper operational practices.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Water Treatment Plant (WTP) operations and maintenance.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment.
- Experience with RO, softeners, , filtration systems, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
- Ability to analyze water quality reports and troubleshoot process issues.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Salary
₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month (Based on qualifications and experience)
