Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced NetSuite Administrator / Developer to work on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with NetSuite administration, SuiteScript/Suitelet development, custom applications, and integrations.
A key requirement is the ability to leverage Claude AI / Generative AI as an engineering assistant and application-building engine to rapidly design, develop, and enhance NetSuite-based applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle NetSuite environment, users, roles, permissions, workflows, records, and configurations.
- Develop and customize NetSuite applications using SuiteScript 2.x, particularly Suitelets.
- Design and build custom NetSuite applications, forms, workflows, dashboards, and business processes.
- Use Claude AI effectively for application development, code generation, debugging, automation, and rapid prototyping.
- Translate business requirements into practical NetSuite solutions using a combination of native functionality, SuiteScript, and AI-assisted development.
- Develop and maintain Suitelets, User Event Scripts, Client Scripts, Scheduled/Map-Reduce Scripts, and other SuiteScript components as required.
- Integrate NetSuite with third-party applications and APIs using REST/SOAP, RESTlets, and SuiteTalk.
- Troubleshoot NetSuite issues, scripts, workflows, integrations, and performance problems.
- Maintain and enhance existing customizations while following NetSuite development best practices.
- Work independently with the internal team and provide technical recommendations and solutions.
- Document configurations, custom applications, scripts, and technical processes.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on NetSuite experience in administration and/or development.
- Strong experience with NetSuite Administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with SuiteScript 2.x.
- Proven experience developing Suitelets.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Experience with NetSuite custom records, workflows, forms, saved searches, roles, permissions, and dashboards.
- Experience with REST APIs, RESTlets, SuiteTalk, and third-party integrations.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Practical experience using Claude AI / Generative AI tools for software development.
- Ability to use AI-generated code effectively, validate it, debug it, and integrate it into production-quality NetSuite solutions.
- Good understanding of software development practices, Git, and version control.
Good to Have
- Experience with SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF).
- Experience with NetSuite integrations and automation.
- Knowledge of CI/CD for NetSuite deployments.
- Experience with AI-powered application development / AI-assisted coding.
- NetSuite certification is a plus.
- Experience working independently in a part-time/flexible contractor role.
