Sales & Business Training (Assistant Manager / Manager)
The Short Version
Who we're looking for: A B2B SaaS sales professional (3-6 years) with a proven track record of driving revenue, ready to trade quota-chasing for building the sales leaders of tomorrow.
What the role is about: You'll design, run, and constantly sharpen Kraftshala's sales and business training programs — from curriculum and live coaching to student selection — keeping our 100% sales placement track record intact.
Why you should apply: You'll shape careers at scale, work alongside India's top sales and business experts, and watch your frameworks directly translate into student success, all while owning a program end-to-end.
About Us: Kraftshala is India's largest skilling institution in terms of marketing placements, with a 94% placement rate overall and a 100% placement rate in our sales programs, and we are gunning to become the world's largest career launchpad, across domains.
We're backed by a number of eminent investors including ex-unicorn startup founders and CXOs of global giants like RedBus, NoBroker, Nestlé, and Performics.
The Detailed Version
This role sits within our Sales Centre of Excellence, owning the design and delivery of the sales and business curriculum that has produced a 100% placement rate over the last three years — and is directly responsible for keeping that bar as the program scales into new verticals.
Responsibilities & Metrics to Measure:
Training & Design (~80%):
-
Own end-to-end design and continuous improvement of the sales and business training curriculum, using student learning outcomes, recruiter feedback, and student feedback data to keep sessions, live projects, and assessments challenging and effective, including leading expansion into new sales verticals as the program grows. Metrics to measure: Placement rate; recruiter satisfaction scores; student learning outcome scores; number of new verticals/modules launched.
-
Enhance and develop training content and frameworks by combining personal sales expertise with insights from conversations with leading sales and business experts, experimenting with new tools and partnerships to continuously improve program outcomes. Metrics to measure: Content refresh frequency; pre/post assessment score improvement; number of new frameworks or case studies created.
-
Deliver regular training sessions to small and large student groups across sales and business topics, and coach students to build compelling personal narratives for interviews. Metrics to measure: Session feedback ratings; student interview conversion rate; number of sessions delivered.
-
Coach and manage a network of external subject-matter experts through audits, briefings, and feedback sessions to continuously raise the quality of training and assessment delivery. Metrics to measure: Expert performance scores post-audit; consistency of delivery quality across experts; expert retention rate.
Overall Program Management & Growth (~20%):
-
Improve and run the student selection process, including conducting interviews, onboarding and auditing interviewers, and making final calls on student intake and scholarship decisions. Metrics to measure: Downstream placement/performance of admitted cohorts; interviewer calibration consistency; admission cycle turnaround time.
-
Build and expand Kraftshala's partnerships with training, project, and recruiting partners by identifying opportunities and driving conversations on scope and collaboration. Metrics to measure: Number of new partnerships signed; partner satisfaction; partner-sourced placement contribution.
Monthly Outcomes:
-
Month 1: Get deeply familiar with the current curriculum, sit in on live sessions and projects, review student performance and recruiter feedback data, and build working relationships with existing external experts and coaches.
-
Month 2: Independently deliver training sessions, identify at least one curriculum area to improve and start acting on it, and begin auditing or coaching a subset of external experts.
-
Month 3+: Own a clear slice of the program end-to-end — design, delivery, and outcomes — contribute to student selection decisions, and drive at least one new partnership or program vertical initiative.
Top Grading:
-
Curiosity & Truth-Seeking Mindset: An A-Player asks thoughtful, first-principles questions and digs deep to understand how things actually work — whether it's a sales framework or a student's struggle with a concept — whereas a B-Player accepts things at face value, sticks to surface-level understanding, and is hesitant to challenge assumptions.
-
Learning Agility: An A-Player quickly picks up new concepts, tools, and methods and applies them effectively in live situations, whereas a B-Player is slow to adapt, resists new approaches, and struggles to transfer learning into practice.
-
Training Delivery: An A-Player creates interactive, high-energy, student-centered sessions and adapts in real-time to learner needs, whereas a B-Player relies heavily on slides/lecture and struggles to maintain engagement.
-
Coaching & Feedback: An A-Player gives crisp, actionable, empathetic feedback that drives measurable student improvement, whereas a B-Player gives generic, delayed, or demotivating feedback.
-
Ownership: An A-Player spots trends early, proposes solutions, and drives batch outcomes independently, whereas a B-Player waits for instructions and shows limited ownership of results.
-
Problem Solving: An A-Player approaches challenges with structured thinking and creativity, finds practical solutions under constraints, and keeps momentum, whereas a B-Player gets stuck, focuses on obstacles, or defaults to others for answers.
-
Data-Driven Mindset: An A-Player uses placement dashboards and assessment data to refine their approach, whereas a B-Player rarely uses data and relies only on subjective judgment.
Ideal Candidate:
-
3-6 years driving revenue in B2B SaaS sales or business development, with a track record of hitting targets and deep fluency in sales techniques, strategies, and industry best practices. (We’re not fussed about the exact years of experience, as that’s just a proxy for your skill level.)
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
-
A structured and user-centric approach to problem-solving
-
High levels of learning agility and adaptability to constantly evolve the program to the market requirements
A question we'd like to address upfront is what the career trajectory looks like for someone in this role:
There are 4 broad possibilities of what you could be doing 5 years from now:
-
From the activities mentioned above, if you particularly enjoy creating great sales and business content and delivering impactful sessions, you could emerge as a team leader who is helping us expand into different sales verticals like IT, Banking, Retail etc and managing all the module leads to ensure Kraftshala's sales programs are the best in the country!
-
If the business and strategy side of things excites you more, you can take up the ownership of a Kraftshala business vertical with P&L responsibilities.
-
If you seem to be more drawn towards Sales Enablement and prefer working on sharper and actual sales problems of different organisations, you can help us start and expand our corporate training segment where we work to improve the existing sales talent and outcomes of large companies.
-
If you end up enjoying the core activities of the sales function you can consider doing B2B sales for Kraftshala in different capacities.
-
These are starting thoughts, of course, and any decision on a role is always a function of what a person wants matched with what the organisation can offer. The great advantage of a company that's growing well (like Kraftshala) is that new opportunities open up frequently, and our preference would always be to try to fill up newly created roles with candidates from within the organisation.
Selection Process:
As a small team, we must get to know each other before taking the leap. We want to ensure you succeed in your role within our team. Each conversation with us will last about 30-60 minutes. The process will occur over a mix of virtual and in-person meetings.
-
Conversation 1: This will be a call with the HR Team to understand your profile briefly and share the details of the selection process.
-
Technical Exercise: This is a specific assessment designed to evaluate your fit for this role
-
Conversation 2: This will be a conversation with our Lead, Sales & Business Training wherein you can expect to have a discussion on the technical exercise along with specific competencies required for the role.
-
Conversation 3: A conversation with our CEO to ensure that there is a fit with the Kraftshala Kode.
-
Extending an offer: If all goes well, we will extend an offer that will mention the relevant details.
