This is a seasoned professional role. Responsibilities
- Accountable for executing and driving results on large-scale efforts or multiple smaller efforts, serving as a development lead for most medium and large projects.
- Guide a high-performing Agile team, overseeing the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to deployment. Create plans that have a clear path to delivery, solving for dependencies between agile and waterfall efforts.
- Empower, mentor, and coach developers and their teams.
- Drive mindful discussion with business and technical stakeholders that lead to timely decisions. Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and mitigate issues/risks at multiple levels.
- Provides quick resolutions to app issues, driving stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to help us and the business succeed.
- Maintains application systems that have completed the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm.
- Manages, maintains and supports applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations.
- Start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Considers implications of the application of technology to the current environment. Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact.
- Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
- Expected to be able to raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Ensure the resilience, scalability, and performance of applications in production. Lead troubleshooting for critical production issues and champion initiatives for continuous improvement and technical debt reduction.
- Champion and implement modern DevOps practices for CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and application monitoring on cloud-native platforms like OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Elaborate, bring, and communicate clear metrics on Design Reviews, Code Reviews, CI/CD, and Design Patterns adoption.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of designing and building complex, enterprise-grade applications.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior-level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expertise in one or more areas.
- 3+ years of recent, in-depth experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector, with specific expertise in payment systems, commercial cards, or KYC/onboarding platforms.
- Experience with handling Linux Operating systems
- Proficient in SQL using Oracle and SQL server DB, experience with GoldenGate
- Middleware exposure including NDM configuration experience, SFTP knowledge and MQ configuration knowledge
- Experience with ITRS Geneos monitoring tool, Kibana, AppDynamics and Splunk Tool Sets
- Experience with scheduling jobs using Autosys tool
- Experience with Scrum methodologies and JIRA
- Good to have - Experience with cloud based technologies - Openshift, Couchbase, MongoDB
