Dance Teacher (Bharatanatyam, Classical & Freestyle)

Experience: 3–5 years of teaching experience in a reputed school
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Diploma/Degree/Certification in Bharatanatyam or Classical Dance from a recognized institution.
- Additional certification or training in Freestyle, Contemporary, or other dance forms is preferred.
Job Summary
The Dance Teacher will be responsible for teaching Bharatanatyam, Classical, and Freestyle dance to students across different grade levels. The role involves developing students' technical skills, creativity, confidence, discipline, and stage presence while fostering an appreciation for Indian culture and performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Bharatanatyam, Classical, and Freestyle dance to students of various age groups.
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Choreograph performances for annual day celebrations, cultural festivals, competitions, and other school events.
- Train students for inter-school, state-level, and national dance competitions.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to improve their skills and performance.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence through dance.
- Ensure proper warm-up, stretching, and safe dance practices during every session.
- Maintain dance costumes, props, music tracks, and other teaching resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leadership for cultural programs and special events.
- Maintain attendance, lesson plans, and student performance records.
- Promote participation in dance clubs, workshops, and talent development programs.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Bharatanatyam and other Classical dance forms.
- Proficiency in Freestyle dance and the ability to teach age-appropriate choreography.
- Excellent choreography and stage management skills.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying skill levels.
- Creative, energetic, patient, and passionate about teaching performing arts.
- Good organizational and event coordination skills.
