Job Profile: Progressive Tool Designer (Sheet Metal Precision Components)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strip layouts for progressive dies.
- Design blanking, piercing, bending, embossing, and forming tools.
- Select suitable tool steel and standard die components.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and CNC machining teams during tool manufacturing and trials.
- Analyze tooling issues and implement design improvements.
- Optimize tooling for cost, quality, and production efficiency.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with GD&T, tolerance requirements, and customer specifications.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal forming processes.
- Experience in progressive die design.
- Understanding of press operations and tool maintenance.
- Proficiency in progressive tool design & prooving the parts
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering (NTTF), or Product Engineering.
- Tool & Die certification is an added advantage.
Experience
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
