Job Summary
The Cashier & Billing Accountant is responsible for managing patient billing, collecting payments, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling daily cash transactions, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth financial operations of the dental centre.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Billing & Cash Management
- Generate accurate invoices for all dental treatments and procedures.
- Collect payments through cash, UPI, credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and other approved payment methods.
- Issue receipts for all payments received.
- Maintain and reconcile the daily cash register and payment records.
- Ensure accurate billing in accordance with approved treatment plans and fee schedules.
- Handle advance payments, refunds, discounts, and payment adjustments after obtaining the necessary approvals.
Accounts & Financial Records
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Maintain patient billing records and payment history.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash collection reports.
- Perform bank deposit reconciliation and assist in bank-related transactions.
- Monitor outstanding patient balances and coordinate payment follow-ups.
- Assist in preparing financial reports required by management.
Administrative Duties
- Coordinate with dentists and reception staff to verify treatment charges before billing.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
- Ensure proper filing of invoices, receipts, and accounting documents.
- Assist during internal and external financial audits.
- Support inventory or purchase record maintenance when required.
Compliance & Accuracy
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and clinic policies.
- Report discrepancies in cash, billing, or financial records immediately to management.
- Maintain accuracy in all financial transactions and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in cashiering, billing, or accounting (experience in a healthcare or dental setting is preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic accounting principles is desirable.
