Job Summary
Anandi School is seeking a dedicated and organized Science Lab Technician to support the effective functioning of the school's science laboratories. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in preparing laboratory experiments, maintain laboratory equipment and materials, ensure safety standards are followed, and help create a safe and engaging practical learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for practical classes.
- Assist science teachers during laboratory sessions as required.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of the science laboratories.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is serviced, calibrated, and stored appropriately.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment, chemicals, glassware, and consumables.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate the procurement of laboratory supplies.
- Follow and enforce laboratory safety procedures, including the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
- Ensure first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment are readily available and in working condition.
- Maintain records of laboratory inventories, maintenance schedules, and chemical usage.
- Support the setup and dismantling of laboratory activities, exhibitions, science fairs, and demonstrations.
- Report damaged equipment or safety concerns promptly to the school administration.
- Comply with all school policies and applicable health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience as a laboratory technician in a school or educational institution is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific procedures, and laboratory safety practices.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record keeping.
