Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registrar – Pediatrics to support the Pediatric Department in providing safe, timely, and quality medical care to pediatric patients. The candidate will work closely with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in managing inpatient and emergency pediatric cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor pediatric patients under the supervision of consultants.
- Take detailed patient history and perform clinical examinations.
- Assist consultants in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management.
- Monitor vital signs and clinical condition of pediatric patients.
- Attend to emergency pediatric cases and provide appropriate initial management.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient case sheets, progress notes, and medical records.
- Review investigation reports and communicate significant findings to the concerned consultant.
- Assist in procedures and interventions as required.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and follow up on patient progress.
- Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Communicate effectively with parents/attenders regarding the patient's clinical condition as directed by the consultant.
- Ensure timely documentation of treatment, medications, investigations, and clinical progress.
- Identify and promptly escalate any deterioration in the patient's condition.
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, audits, and quality-improvement activities.
- Ensure proper handover of patients during shift changes.
Qualification & Skills
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid registration with the appropriate State Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.
- 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in Pediatrics.
- Good clinical assessment and patient-management skills.
- Ability to handle pediatric emergencies effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong documentation and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work in a hospital environment and participate in assigned shifts/duties.
