About the role You'll take embedded boards from concept to working prototype — designing the schematic and PCB, assembling boards (including SMD hand-soldering and rework), and doing full bring-up and debugging. This is a hands-on, bench-heavy role for someone who likes owning the whole hardware path, not just the design files.
What you'll do
· Design schematics and PCB layouts for embedded products
· Hand-assemble and rework prototype boards: SMD soldering across package types
· Perform board bring-up: power-up, peripheral validation, fault-finding
· Debug at the bench with oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and multimeter
· Work closely with the firmware team during integration and bring-up
· Manage component selection, BOM, and basic design-for-manufacture
· Document hardware designs, test procedures, and bring-up results
Must have
· 5+ years in hardware design and board bring-up
· Hands-on schematic capture and PCB design ([PCB tool — same as Lead role])
· Strong, current SMD hand-soldering and rework skills — from standard packages (0402, QFP) through fine-pitch (QFN, 0201) and BGA rework
· Solid board bring-up and debug experience with scope and logic analyzer
· Good grasp of communication interfaces (USB, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) at the hardware level
· Component selection and BOM management
