Job Summary
The USG Assistant supports the radiologist/sonologist during ultrasound procedures by preparing patients, assisting with examinations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth workflow in the ultrasound department. The role requires professionalism, compassion, and adherence to patient confidentiality and departmental protocols, including PNDT regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the radiologist/sonographer during ultrasound (USG) procedures
- Ensure compliance with PNDT documentation and record-keeping requirements.
- Prepare and position patients for scanning
- Explain basic procedure instructions to patients
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the ultrasound room
- Ensure all required materials and consumables are available
- Handle patient records and documentation accurately
- Assist in patient movement when required
- Clean and disinfect ultrasound probes and equipment after use
- Coordinate with reception and other departments for patient flow
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Plus Two / Diploma in relevant field
- Basic knowledge of medical imaging (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a USG Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.

Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts
