The role of a School Principal in SSMS is a high-level leadership position that balances academic excellence, administrative efficiency, and community engagement.The Principal serves as the Head of Institution (HOI). They are responsible for implementing the state’s educational policies, managing staff and students, and ensuring the school meets the standards set by the CBSE and Directorate of School Education (DSE).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership
- Curriculum Oversight: Ensure the timely completion of the syllabus as per the CBSE guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers to improve the quality of instruction.
- Student Assessment: Monitor internal exams and board exam results (SSLC and HSC), implementing remedial measures for slow learners.
- Holistic Development: Oversee the integration of sports, arts, and extracurricular activities to ensure the "all-round development" of students.
2. Administrative & Financial Management
- Staff Supervision: Manage the staffs, training, and performance evaluation of teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Budgeting: Manage the school’s finances, maintenance grants, and infrastructure development.
- Statutory Compliance: Maintain essential school records like the Admission Register, Service Books of teachers, and Attendance Registers.
- Facility Management: Ensure a safe, hygienic environment, including clean drinking water, sanitation, and functional labs/libraries.
3. Relationship Management
- Parent-Teacher Association (PTA): Act as the convener for PTA meetings to discuss student progress and school welfare.
- Liaison with Authorities: Coordinate with the Educational Officer (EO) and District Educational Officer (DEO) regarding any updated schemes.
- Discipline: Enforce the school's code of conduct and handle disciplinary issues among students and staff professionally.
