Screening Questions
- How many years of hands-on experience do you have with the Yocto Project?
- Which Yocto versions have you worked on (Zeus, Dunfell, Kirkstone, etc.)?
- Have you developed or maintained BSPs for NXP i.MX6 processors?
- Describe your experience with Linux kernel customization and patching.
- Have you optimized Linux boot time? Which tools did you use?
- Have you worked with BlueZ and Bluetooth bring-up?
- Explain your experience with BitBake recipes and bbappend files.
- Have you migrated a Yocto BSP from one release to another?
- Have you customized U-Boot or bootloader configurations?
- What debugging tools do you commonly use for embedded Linux systems?
Suitable Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- 5–8 years of Embedded Linux experience.
- Strong expertise in Yocto BSP development.
- Hands-on experience with NXP i.MX6 platforms.
- Linux kernel and driver customization experience.
- Boot-time optimization and performance tuning skills.
- Strong debugging capabilities.
- Experience maintaining production-grade embedded Linux systems.
This role is best suited for an Embedded Linux BSP/Yocto Engineer rather than a generic Embedded C or Linux Application Developer, as it requires deep expertise in Yocto, BSP maintenance, kernel optimization, and NXP i.MX6 platform development.
