ABOUT VIVID LABS
Vivid Labs (vividlabsai.com) is a technical education platform for engineers. We produce cinematic, in-depth video courses on AI-native software, wireless systems, and firmware, built with AI from the ground up. This role is about running and growing that platform the same way: AI does the heavy lifting, you bring the judgment.
LOCATION: Fully remote. Candidates based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu preferred, but open to strong candidates anywhere in India.
AI can already write most of the code. What it can't do is decide what's worth building, notice when it's wrong, or talk to a customer. That's the job. You'll run this entire website using Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools (paid for by us, unlimited use) and your value is judgment, not typing speed.
If you've used ChatGPT or Claude to help with a class project and thought "I could build real things this way," this role is built for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fix bugs. Something breaks or a customer reports it: you point an AI coding assistant at it, review what it changes, and confirm it's actually fixed before it goes live.
- Ship small improvements weekly. Pricing tweaks, better onboarding, faster pages. You decide what's worth doing, the AI writes it, you check the result makes sense.
- Talk to customers. Answer support messages, notice patterns in what people are confused about, turn that into your next to-do.
- Learn the codebase, not memorize syntax. You don't need to write React from scratch. You need to understand enough to catch it when the AI is about to do something dumb.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's in Computer Science (or related field)
- Solid grasp of data structures and algorithms: able to explain why one approach is slower than another, not just recite Big-O
- Understanding of how databases work: queries, indexes, joins, why a query is slow
- Understanding of how the web works: client vs. server, APIs, HTTP, authentication
- Comfortable with git and reading a code diff
- Able to follow a system architecture diagram and reason about how the pieces connect
- Experience using AI coding tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) and a strong interest in getting better at directing them
- Clear written communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience (not required, this can be your first job)
- Prior use of Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI-native dev tools
- Some exposure to web development
- Interest in how startups operate
