Job Description
A Fire Alarm Technician works with fire detection and alarm systems in places like offices, factories, hospitals, and residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, control panels, and wiring
- Test and inspect systems regularly to ensure proper functioning
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty alarms or components
- Ensure systems meet safety standards and legal regulations
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance
- Work with other safety systems like sprinklers and emergency lighting
Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
- Understanding of fire safety codes and standards
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
- Attention to detail and safety awareness
- Certification or diploma in electrical/fire safety (preferred)
Work Environment
- Construction sites, commercial buildings, factories, and homes
- May require climbing ladders, working at heights, or in confined spaces
- Sometimes on-call for emergency repairs
- Salary (India – Approximate)
- Entry-level: ₹12,000 – ₹20,000 per month
- Experienced: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000+ per month
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
