Job Summary
The Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Lead will design, develop, scale, and maintain secure, high-performance backend systems for the organization while providing technical leadership and supporting end-to-end product delivery. The role requires strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, API architecture, multi-tenant SaaS, RBAC, workflow engines, microservices, Docker, and CI/CD, together with strong system design and technical leadership capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience building production SaaS products, preferably in AR, collections, fintech, ERP, or AI automation, and be comfortable working in an early-stage/startup environment. The candidate must demonstrate strong ownership, the ability to build features end-to-end, and good testing, documentation, and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Engineering
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop secure and high-performance REST APIs.
- Design PostgreSQL databases, schemas, queries and indexes.
- Implement business logic, workflows and background processing.
- Build asynchronous services and scheduled jobs.
- Develop reusable and maintainable backend components.
- Implement robust error handling, logging and monitoring.
Architecture & System Design
- Lead backend architecture and technical design decisions.
- Design microservices and service-to-service communication.
- Develop multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
- Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Design scalable authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and improve system scalability.
- Establish coding standards and architecture guidelines.
DevOps & Deployment
- Work with Docker-based development and deployment environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Support cloud-based application deployments.
- Implement application monitoring, logging and alerting.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers on infrastructure improvements.
Technical Leadership
- Lead technical implementation of major features.
- Conduct code reviews.
- Mentor backend and junior engineers.
- Support technical estimation and sprint planning.
- Define engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture reviews.
- Troubleshoot critical production issues.
Security & Quality
- Implement secure coding practices.
- Support API and application security.
- Ensure proper access controls and tenant isolation.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests.
- Maintain technical documentation.
7. Experience
- 7+ years of software/backend development experience.
- 3+ years with Python-based backend systems.
- Strong production experience with FastAPI or equivalent Python frameworks.
- Experience designing SaaS products.
- Experience leading technical implementation or mentoring engineers.
- Experience with production databases and API architectures.
Pay: From ₹5,000.00 per month
