Job Summary
We are looking for a Purchase Executive responsible for handling local procurement activities for laboratory materials, plant consumables, maintenance items, packaging materials, office supplies, engineering items, and other non-raw material (Non-RM) purchases. The candidate will ensure timely procurement, cost control, vendor management, and smooth coordination with internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle local purchasing of:
- Laboratory chemicals and consumables
- Plant maintenance items
- Engineering and utility materials
- Safety items (PPE)
- Packaging and stationery materials
- Office and housekeeping supplies
- Other indirect/non-RM materials
- Receive purchase requisitions from departments and process purchase orders.
- Identify and develop local vendors for regular and urgent requirements.
- Compare quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid plant or lab downtime.
- Maintain records of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and vendor details.
- Coordinate with stores, accounts, QA/QC, maintenance, and production departments.
- Follow up with vendors for pending deliveries and documentation.
- Monitor market prices and maintain cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare MIS reports related to procurement activities.
- Maintain compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Diploma/Certification in Material Management or Procurement preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in local purchasing/procurement.
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial plant purchasing preferred.
Required Skills
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of local market suppliers
- Understanding of purchase processes and documentation
- Familiarity with ERP/SAP/Tally/MS Excel
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to handle urgent procurement requirements

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
