The Assistant Sales Manager supports the sales team in acquiring new clients, maintaining relationships, and achieving revenue targets. This role is ideal for professionals with 2–5 years of logistics or freight forwarding sales experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Support
- Assist in identifying potential clients in manufacturing, trading, and export-import sectors.
- Support senior managers in preparing proposals and quotations.
- Sales Operations
- Maintain CRM records, track leads, and follow up on inquiries.
- Coordinate with operations and pricing teams to ensure competitive offers.
- Market Research
- Monitor freight rates, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Provide inputs for sales strategy development.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Handle routine client communication and resolve minor service issues.
- Ensure timely invoicing and payment follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or Logistics.
- 2–5 years of sales experience in logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS, HS codes, and international trade practices.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Performance Metrics
- Number of qualified leads generated.
- Conversion rate of proposals to bookings.
- Client retention and satisfaction scores.
