Job Description – Staff Nurse (MICU)
Department: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor / Nursing Manager
Job Purpose
To provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU, in accordance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous monitoring and nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage and monitor patients on ventilators and other critical-care equipment as per competency.
- Assist doctors during procedures, emergencies, and resuscitation.
- Recognize and promptly report changes in the patient's condition.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, and patient charts.
- Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and patient-safety protocols.
- Maintain proper handover and communicate patient status to the next shift.
- Provide patient and family education and emotional support.
- Ensure proper use, availability, and maintenance of MICU equipment and supplies.
- Participate in emergency response, code blue, and resuscitation activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Qualification & Experience
Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with valid nursing registration.
Experience: 1–3 years of ICU/MICU experience preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹42,056.07 per month
