Business Analyst

About the Role
The US FBA Business Analyst plays a critical role in identifying profitable business opportunities by analyzing vendor price lists, product catalogs, sales trends, marketplace competition, and inventory performance.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, commercial acumen, and a solid understanding of Amazon FBA operations. The role requires making informed purchasing recommendations that maximize profitability while minimizing business risks.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Vendor Analysis
- Analyze vendor price lists, catalogs, and promotional offers to identify profitable product opportunities.
- Evaluate products based on demand, competition, pricing, Buy Box ownership, sales velocity, and profitability.
- Conduct product research using Amazon Seller Central and other research tools.
- Calculate ROI, profit margins, Amazon fees, shipping costs, and expected net profitability.
- Recommend products for purchase based on business objectives and inventory strategy.
- Monitor supplier pricing changes and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Inventory Planning & Purchasing Support
- Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment opportunities.
- Recommend purchase quantities based on sales history, demand forecasts, and inventory health.
- Analyze inventory turnover, aging inventory, stockouts, and storage costs.
- Work closely with procurement and operations teams to ensure timely replenishment.
Business Performance Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business performance reports.
- Monitor key business metrics including sales, margins, inventory health, ROI, and profitability.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and risks impacting business performance.
- Present actionable insights and recommendations to management.
Marketplace & Competitive Analysis
- Analyze competitor pricing, assortment, and marketplace trends.
- Monitor Buy Box performance and category movements.
- Identify new product opportunities based on market demand and customer trends.
- Support strategic decision-making through market intelligence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Vendor Development, Procurement, Marketplace Operations, Inventory, and Growth teams.
- Support product launches and inventory planning.
- Assist in improving business processes through automation and data-driven insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Amazon FBA, e-commerce, marketplace operations, sourcing analysis, or business analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, IF functions, SUMIFS, etc.).
- Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and make commercially sound recommendations.
